About the Pastor

Pastor Jonathan Pointer was called by God to start a new ministry in Xenia that brings the focus back on God. We believe the church body has strayed from the Word to the latest fad. Instead of equipping the congregation for the trials of the world, the body is receiving a watered down get together. While we believe in a fellowship and a good time among like-minded individuals, we believe there is too much focus on production rather than being established fully in the Word.

Pastor Pointer was first called and witnessed by church leaders in 1989. Since then, he has been studying under his father, Reverend David M Pointer, a minister for over 37 years. Since accepting his call, Pastor Pointer has experienced two terminal diseases that God has miraculous healed while protecting his life! By going through these extremely life-threatening times, Pastor Pointer has personally experienced God in a special one-on-one relationship.

Pastor Pointer has been a youth group director and an assistant pastor of Grace Evangelical Church in Tampa, Florida. He has also served as an usher, an elder, finance committee member, and operator of recording and sound.

Pastor Jonathan Pointer has been married to Elizabeth for 18 years. They met in 1986 when Jonathan moved to Tampa with his parents. They attended high school together before their marriage. They lived in Tampa, Florida before moving to Xenia in September 2005. The Pointers strongly advocate the sanctity of marriage and believe in a strong family unit. They have four children together.  Benjamin, their eldest, is 18 and attends Cedarville University. Nathaniel age 15, Sarah age 10, and Ethan age 9 are currently attending Xenia Christian School.

In Florida, the Pointers provided care for medically complex foster children. Since 1992, they have cared for more than 37 children in their home. Before becoming ill, Jonathan was a manager for a large grocery chain in Florida. There he worked his way up through management at a young age and was able to manage individuals of different ages and backgrounds. In the past, Elizabeth has worked as an office manager and a real estate agent. She currently works at Greene County Public Library Xenia in the children's department.

They believe the church to be an integral part of the instruction of the Lord. This comes from scripture, “thou shall teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest in thy way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up”.  Deuteronomy 6:7
